I wanted to give myself a challenge to make a frame out of some of the worst wood I have sitting around. Its maple that fell out of my tree in my yard but that tree is under attack by carpenter ants. This wood had a lot of holes in it so I decided to try to do some inlay with amethyst. It was a lot of work to try to get it to the point that it's at. I'm not 100% happy with it but it still turned out okay

I didn't like how the inlay turned out. The purple doesn't show as much as I thought it would

Nice!! Good use for the figured wood. Figured wood is some of the most beautiful.
