I've been making frames for 2050 bands for a while.

I've noticed that making the band anchor points further apart appears to improve accuracy.

On this stainless frame the band anchor holes are 20mm apart, but where the bands attach to the pouch there is only a 3mm gap.

The triangular stance I think helps by reducing the effect of slightly different band lengths (I try to get them identical but there will always be some difference) and slight errors in my pouch hold by pulling everything straight as the pouch accelerates towards the frame.

On the next frame I'll make the anchor points 30mm apart and see what happens...

I've made a few slingshot rifles now, I definitely would not use flatbands again.

I guess the downside of moving the anchor points apart is that there will be slight reduction in velocity, but I'll take that for the increase in accuracy.

I'm thinking my next frame will be polished brass - I might try the wider anchor on that.
