In love with the idea of TTF

Since I have shot slingshots, I have been an OTT shooter, I tried TTF a couple times and gave up, I have finally made a firm decision to shoot strictly one slingshot frame, which is a TTF frame I made, for one year, or, until I can pass all challenges on the forum, with this frame. I figure this is the best way to not only improve my marksmanship, but also a great way to restart my slingshot journey and figure it out all over again.

A natural I am finishing right now, made out of buck thorn and some cut off pieces of oak. Well it’s more of a natracut I guess, I’ll post a few pictures tomorrow after I am done with the finish. So, what style do you shoot? Are you a hard aimer, instinctive, or somewhere in between? And what is your preferred frame?

Looking forward to the pics!
Sideshooter and I definitely aim whether its a line down the bands, aiming dimp or fiber optic. There are several slings that I enjoy and for the last couple years I have gravitated to frames around 85-90mm wide. I started with wider frames though. Right now I am dialed in with the GZK Crazy Power TTF Mini. I also highly recommend the MS Hunter, J5 TrueBlood (custom) and GZK Mini Hammer TTF just to name a few. Definitely recommend wider frames to start with however. :)

@Samurai Samoht, I am definitely going to get a J5 shooter when I can, Joey and I go a ways back with the forums and doing some trades, it’s crazy how good he has gotten at building over the years! I think the aiming is what attracts me the most to TTF, I am fully aware that you can aim OTT, but I always did better instinctive shooting when it came to OTT. I could have lots of successful hunts, but I was never able to get my marksmanship at pro level, and that’s what I’m striving for.

I can relate to your shift from OTT to TTF. I did something similar. It seemed I could only get so good with OTT. I am much better with TTF.

Thanks for sharing.

In TTF, aiming is inconvenient for me, in OTT the tape sometimes hits my hand, so I use such a hybrid on some slingshots. Combines the best of both styles.

I think you have chosen wisely, that is a really fine looking frame!
