I chased this snowshoe hare for about 300 yards. He hid in some bushes and assumed incorrectly that I couldn't see him. They are easy pickings when they are turning white and there is no snow on the ground. Keeping up with them in the wet brush is the hard part but if they get into a thicket they assume they are hidden in they just freeze. In the fading light, I stalked in carefully to about 15 yards and gave him the popeye. well just behind the eye. I used a marble. He hopped up and that was about it. He just laid in the damp grass and kicked a bit.
