The sporting goods store nearby had a shipment of 00 Buckshot for reloading shotgun shells, so I bought a 5 pound box.
These are lead balls, .330 inches in diameter, supposed to be 54 grains weight which would match 3/8 steel, but without the risk of ricochet, perfect for shooting in my basement this winter.
The cost ends up about 5 cents per round, and in my catchbox they are reusable.
I like shooting .177 and .25 steel, but no way I'll take the risk indoors with concrete block walls to bounce them back at me.
