joerg's design is waay cooler, but i liked the laser idea, it could help people develop instinctive shooting or to just improve thier shooting technique/ stance etc.

is it practical what considerations are there for laser fitting ?

A big thumbs down on so many different levels. It doesn't hold a candle to your designs or work Joerg ....... still this shows an ongoing growing interest in slingshots everywhere.

Our first ones may not be so good, like my first. My first slingshot forks were too high also, usable but it sits dusty on the slingshot rack. And most likely, so will his unless he shortens them.

I like it alot but it does have some design flaws. Kipkay is a character, sure his taken a couple of pages out of your book to build his Joreg. I really think you should become a vendor and start selling your stuff Joreg i even sent you a friend invite and you gave me a knock back

I'm not sure I know Kipkay and yes, I agree with consnsus that the fork looks like a highschool machinist shop excercise, not a competantly designed, comfortable and beautifully crafted slingshot frame.

However, I commend him on joining the fraternity of slingshot makers and I hope he finds this forum so that he can learn from our collective experience.

Well, he did put in the right keywords so serveral OK slingshot videos (mine included) show up. I really see a boost of views and comments on those videos. He is a draw.

Also you must understand that he walks a thin line, showing people how to make dangerous toys. He obviously does this commercially. If something happens, then lawsuits are likely. Hence the high fork and the pistachio ammo.

That would make sense.... I never thought of it that way!! He is good at making the videos.... I actually enjoyed the style and quality of the video itself, just not the fork. Maybe I'll take back my big fat thumbs down.

I just looked him up. He's the guy who got famous for putting a blue ray or DVD-RW diode in a flashlight and showing people how it could pop balloons. I think that had been done before, except with eye protection. Perhaps then the laser on the slingshot is meant to face backwards and line up with the shooter's eye.

Kipkay has 167 million views and is therefore 92 times more successful than my little Slingshot Channel.

This means he will get about 14,000 US-dollars a month from youtube, according to the published youtube income stats done by independent researchers.

Not bad!

Dan, do you realize how much litigation costs these days? 14,000 a month is ridiculous. Kipkay isn't rich by any standards. He doesn't do that long enough. He may have a few thousand in savings. The lawyers wouldn't even consider taking the case. Insurance? Nope. They would never take the risk, given the contents of the vids.

But maybe in a few years from now, he will be ripe for litigation.
