I 've noticed that quite a few guys on this forum have either had their knees replaced, or are going to have their knees replaced.

This is a serious matter.

Maybe we need to replace our lead ammo with Whiffle balls, I dunno...

I've had two knees and one hip replaced, and am going to have to have the other hip replaced before long.
Good news is, it must not be the led balls, because I only use steel. Mine was caused by a guy named Arthritis commonly referred to as Old Arthur.

Well then, that's good news because my pouch seems to get heavier and heavier.

Thanks for the info!!

Not much left of one of my knees. Ruptured ACL and most of the cartilage removed.

Nothing a Donjoy knee brace can't hold together.

I snowboard rather than ski as I can't risk one of my knees twisting rather than both bending in the same direction and surfing and kite surfing are OK (no straps or bindings)

The only time it's a problem is when I'm not thinking and do something stupid with my grandson.

Maybe youse guys know something about this. How come they can inject that jelly stuff in between your knee joints, your hip joints both weight bearing joints but yet they cannot do it for the elbow? Was up wit dat?

So... yeah I was bent over with arthritis a couple years back, now I winter in Arizona, no more pain after many years of it. No pain, no allergies, no gun laws, etc :)
If you have arthritis and you don't live in the desert, you really should take an extended vacation here to see if it disappears. I can go back to Oregon and be able to tell you if it's going to rain that day just by the pain. We left California this year just a couple weeks after the pain/ rain started and the next day after we got to Arizona, I was walking pain free again. One day was all it took to go away, that's it. I always had to plan my steps to reset my back, now I have to remember that I don't need to...

I've had other people to tell me that before, that's amazing isn't it.

I don't have arthritis but I did have finger joint pain and lots of minor ache/pain here and there including in the knees. Probably years of damage thanks to karate....

Anyway, I've more or less cured it. Here is what worked for me in case it helps anyone:

1. Stop drinking sodas. I was a Mountain Dew addict. Stop. Cold turkey. And of course no smoking and no alcohol (not even a little bit).

2. Massively increase veggie intake. My breakthrough came when I realized I could steam veggies by the ton in the microwave. For small stuff, I roll them up tight in kitchen paper napkins and nuke for 3 minutes. Or use a ziplock bag.

I've heard you can also steam thin sections of wood by wrapping in moist paper napkins and nuking for a few minutes. Then bend to shape for happy happy slingshot making.

Anyway... for potatoes, you can use a larger dish or one of those microwave pouches.
