I was walking the wilderness around where I live and came across 2 perfect forks how long and what temperature do I need to set my oven to dry these out without ruining them? I'll put up picks when I get back home here in a few.

When you nuke a fork, you need to trim pretty close to final length. you can do longer forks but you have to consider that Micros have a sweet spot. By the time you dry the extremities you have turned the middle to charcoal. Put your fork in a ziplock with a paper towel and nuke a couple of times about 30 seconds. I hurry so I wrap them in a paper towel and put them in the freezer so that they cool faster, rinse and repeat until the bag stops steaming up. Another method I have tried that was promising was to boil the fork. It breaks down the ...lignin? and the cellulose of the wood where water is compressed out of the fibers by the new structure. I have even seen people deep fry forks. Steams the water out and prolly tastes like chicken. :imslow:
