Recently, I tried layering TB black and green. So far, nothing seems bad and it is a powerful and yet quite weak draw band set. Has anyone ever layered different colours before?

I would advise against it. You don't want the band to contract unevenly.

As far as I know, Baumstamm used layered bands with different colors.

as long as you balence the layering, ed gold, black, gold or whatever. i see no reason why you couldnt have different widths of them as well, to prevent it becoming too powerful, though could make tying difficult. the real issue is the bands not ballencing and the top or bottom contracting faster resulting in an in accurate and potentially harmful situation (eg fork hits, hand/finger hits etc) its worth trying in my mind

I've tried this but found for me playing around with the taper of the band is a better option.
