Now that ive made many batches of lead ball ammo with my LEE melter, how do i clean the residue in the pot?

I just scrape mine out with a spoon while it's still hot enough to melt lead. That's it; nothing else. Someone else may know of something else you should do but I've been working lead since '97 and that's all I have ever had to do.
