I may be wrong, but not Lee Wong, but I can't imaging the ATF or any other enforcer/legislation having any care about BB gun length.

I feel your pain...

What I know is that my Benjamin Trail NP (Nitro Piston activated) .22 is too long at 44", and too heavy to enjoy, especially trying to keep the scope crosshairs still. It's very accurate until muscle fatigue sets in. I'll probably sell it one of these days. Before my muscles wither further...

Wait a minute - the overall length of your 760 is only 33.5" (compared to my Benjamin Trail NP at 44" ), barrel length only 16.75", and you want to shorten the barrel length??????

My Daisy 880 is overall 37", comparable to your Crosman, and very easy to handle - can't imagine why anybody'd want to shorten the barrel of a carbine-sized firearm.

BTW - in Canada (at least in some park), slingshots are considered firearms. Some idiot got caught after folks in the park observed him shooting at a freakin' COUGAR (not an older woman on the prowl)!

Here's a possible solution without sawing.

Purchase a Crosman American Classic pump action pellet gun, in either .177 or .22 cal.

Purchase with it the shoulder stock.

Total length will be 25.5 inches.

It is a very accurate, very long in production, gun which has a cult following, with an incredible amount of possible mods.

Search Google for Crosman American Classic 1377 or 2277 mods and you'll be amazed at the images that show up! There are forums devoted to it and I'm sure that a Facebook group must exist.

Thank me later,

Air guns aren't firearms (yet) in the relatively firearms-sane State of Texas. The only caveat I can think of is that if you shorten the barrel to the point you can not achieve 600fps, it wouldn't be legal for hunting.
Thanks, not really gonna hunt with it,its one of the newer plastic ones,my 41 year old 760 is my squirrel gun,at best the plastic peice will be used on rats :)

I went for a lil' look around. There doesn't seem to be much concern to authorities in this regard for spring powered shooters. Most of the advice I see is an 8" minimum for maintaining performance with re-crowning to tidy up for accuracy. There was some discussion about the cylinder slamming harder and throwing scopes off and shortening product life as well as the sometime necessity of JB welding if there is a shroud over the barrel. Resetting the front sight would look sharp too. For a wall hanger I would say,"Go for it".

Yup. Just go to ebay and search "crosman 760 rebuild". Also, Crosman is known for outstanding customer service. You can order the parts directly from them.

Obviously, and thankfully, you cut off the crooked part of the barrel. Good for you, gun slinger!

Good morning, Skarrd!
Good Morning Thwack,i just want to make it a bit cooler lokking, since it doesnt shoot very well any way,i have a 760 that is 41 years old,all metal receiver, that is still a tack driver this one is just *hangin around*
Yep, they don't make them like they used to, and that's why I like the idea that my old Daisy Powerline 880 Anniversary Edition has a metal receiver, and especially because it has a rifled barrel. I've read that if one shoots BBs through a rifled barrel, it wears away the rifling, since BBs are hard metal. Therefore, I only shoot lead pellets with it. It's quite accurate - never considered putting a scope on it.

But the Crosman American Classic? THAT THERE IS ONE HECKOVA PISTOL> You already have the stock, so you might as well buy the gun and enjoy it the way millions of others do.

WAIT - Isn't this a Slingshot forum...??????
