Simpleshot hammer for sure for fishing, I recommend u invest in the adapter and get a simple drum to hold your line( I tried it without using any equipment to hold my line and it makes it kinda annoying/difficult to shoot)
I can take a pic of my current setup if u wanna see it

I bought the rail adapter and aluminum connector from simpleshot, I could not find the right thread for it anywhere so I ordered a 4 inch rod and nuts from McMaster. Bought the drum and arrow from my local sporting good store, shouldn't be much more then 100 if u just get the slingbow from SS

you could diy it with a bent rod slingshot from walmart and a slingbow plate adapter from pocket predator. You would also need to attach a soda bottle to the rig to hold your line. I think this kind of setup could be done in the 30 - 40 dollar range.

I wouldn't recommend those plate adapters for fishing as the arrow has a plastic stop at the end to keep the line attached, but I do agree u could diy something if u wanted to
