A few weeks ago I purchased an Antelope and, of course, the looped tubes were way too short. So, I made a single tube set up and attached them to my Torque frame. It consistently shoots low. I suspect that the reason is that the connecting loops are too small and too tight and are affecting the flight of the ammo at the last millisecond causing the shot to go low. Using a light looped tube set up I can shoot the Torque guide well. What do you think?

Congratulations on the new slingshot. Hope you like your Antelope as much as I like mine!

I shoot singles a lot with a set up exactly like yours. I don't think the small loop is a problem.

Question: When you say shooting low, compared to what?

I would expect singles to shoot lower than full loops of the same tube if they are the same active length. The singles would only have half the energy storage and potential power.

The usual options for this situation include:

1 - lower your anchor point to raise the point of impact (I just can't bring myself to do this, but other shooters do)

2 - lower your aiming reference on the frame (easier for those of us holding sideways)

3 - shorten the tubes to get more snap (doable if they aren't stretching more than 5 times the relaxed length already).

Another idea that comes to me, is to try the tubes on the Antelope. The narrower fork width may make all the difference.

Good advise. I will try them on my Antelope and see how they work there. I do not use a reference point on the frame. I am more of a Rufus Hussey kid of a guy. As you may know, if you have seen some of my earlier posts I had pretty much given up shooting anything other than my Dan Hood Custom because of my injured left hand but now I have discovered light weight tubes and bands and that allows me to shoot frames like the Torque and Antelope.

Since you like the Antelope, did you see my post about adding an inch of rubber tube to the ends of the ram's horn to keep the looped tubes in place. It works like a dream.

I do exactly the same thing to my tubes - also sometimes use a short loop. What I have been noticing on some frames is a (matched) full loop shoots differently - almost wonder if in some cases the loops bind on the frame causing each side of the loop to be slightly unbalanced - this is not noticeable on pseudo loops (even short ones). Also frames like the Antelope are more polished than others where the tubes contact the frame so may allow for the bands to settle more accurately.

I really like shooting BB's and 6mm airsoft in the Torque.
