Hi Guys,

I went to my closet and found this from many years ago. Since I'm starting to get back in slings I thought I'd start trying to find some of my older stuff I never really used. Good thing about this one...I'd go from a 28" to about 40" draw length. LOL

Dang! That's a classic. Put some flat bands on it and you have a vintage starship.
I was thinking about that..all I have right now for bands is some Allieance Sterling bands. I gotta get a list together, and get some supplies. Still trying to wrap my head around all the improvements in equipment. LOL

Sterling bands will work. There are instructions here for looping them or knotting the Sterling bands together. You can attach the Sterling band set directly to the forks or use a gypsy tab. Either way, you just wrap and tuck them directly to the forks. If you are near a Walmart, you can buy a rotary cutter and self-healing mat in the sewing section, and get some latex based exercise resistance bands in the exercise section. Walmart also carries Daisy slingshot ammo in 1/4 and 3/8 steel sizes and 1/2 marbles (firearms section). There are better prices out there, but it is convenient to just buy them @ Walmart along with everything else. Also consider paintballs (should be in the camping section), and lead sinkers (fishing section).

I had one of those. I used to chunk pieces of wheel weights with it. The arm brace never fit me very well though.
Yeah...I noticed the brace feels like it's twisting my arm. I'm gonna put some flat bands on it and see if I get used to it. Might be why I put it up years ago.

If you can't get used to it, do not try to bend it. It is too much of a classic to mess with. If you can't live with it let me know and we'll see if we can work something out. I have recently developed something to correct that on a home build.
Sounds good. I was thinking the strap itself was to tight...needed more of an arch so to speak. But regardless I wouldn't do any modifications to it.
