Leopards come back to Islamabad as virus clears way

Leopards living in Islamabad's tree-covered hills have been enjoying a rare respite from the throngs of hikers and joggers that normally pack the trails.

Rangers in the Pakistani capital's Margalla Hills National Park saw animal activity increase soon after the city was locked down in March to counter the coronavirus.

Islamabad's normally reclusive leopards have been roaming onto deserted pathways and pictures of sightings are spreading on social networks.

Big cats are not a problem. They like to stay away from people... it's only because of the virus the cats are getting curious.

Monkeys on the other hand LIKE being near people. They are not afraid. They are smart too. The lack of people moving about has made them come deeper into the city... one made his way into the Supreme Court and was playing with the case files... tore up a few. They have also recently acquired a habit of climbing street light poles and busting all the lights (they love smashing bulbs).
