A unusual fork, comfortable in the hand but the woodwork is crudely done. The throat is formed by two saw cuts then the middle section just snapped off. Despite the crude construction time has then been spent inlaying brass strips and mother of pearl shapes.A basic metal eye completes the frame.

I do not remember the exact story behind these forks, I have owned them for a few years. I think they were brought back from that area by a member of the armed forces.

Wow! How did I miss this thread? Those are the first Middle Eastern Design Cattys I ever saw. Nice job Mr. Bird. I always see them on television shooting U.S or European designs. Cool!

This is really cool. I have to admit, the diamonds and the fork shapes make it stand out from what you usually see here.
