This was suppossed to me a replica of a XT, but w/ a different forward slant grip , but I kinda goofed. Should have started w/ a bigger fork. I never put band grooves on my SS, but this need them due to small space . To me it does anyway. Next time Ill use a larger ,, but this may turn out a great shooter in spite of its accidents :) It has a fork width of 110 now lol bet it shoots low

Nice grain in that fork.

That may make up for any size/contour variations from the plan.

Bet you shoot it before you get a finish on it!

I would! LOL!

Hey SteveJ--it so happens that misfire is my middle name! If you haven't done so, and you end up with a fork that just isn't going the way you want it too then consider trying out the 'ol eye-bolt forktip ring shooter modification. Of course it helps if you don't mind shooting with tubes and you don't mind the 'bionic' look of the end result. This frame here I have re-carved 3 times looking for the right feel. Then I switched shooting hands and needed more wood to make this thing work. I think the whole point of some of my slingmakery is to dominate my project, or else!?
This frame doesn't have any chance of becoming pretty. But I can tell you I won the battle and it feels just perfect in the hand, which of course means you don't have to actually look at it. I did discover that by using a larger eye-bolt that the frame shoots almost TTF based on the line of the tubes when stretched. The launch might be going OTT but like I mentioned I am shooting this frame with my eyes closed.

I hadnt shot it yet , hopefully soon. I only have 1 frame this wide and I shoot low with it, all that geometry stuff lol. To me 90-100 are in my "hit where aimed " widths. I anchor at side of mouth. I learned to shoot watching Gamekeeper, and seems this short anchor is most accurate for me. But sometimes I change like the weather so who knows :)

I used a good wood glue and and one pin in each one. Epoxy for the eye-bolts. Your fork isn't in danger of becoming a train-wreck like my fork was. This is just a good PlanC if your A and B Plan get sanded away!
