I remember reading somewhere that after installing your flat bands (ott) pull them back, if bands form an A that's good /bad. If they form a V that's just the opposite. Which way or no matter??

The trough up or trough down controversy has raged for years. I'm a trough up person. When I was a child, we were forbidden from associating with trough down children. When I became an Aimstinctivist I learned that we are all brothers under latex and put away my prejudice. I have several trough down friends now.

Like folding the bands double or triple, the trough debate will indeed continue longer than our Brexit lol

Never really noticed any difference when I've tried either way. As long as the trough is even and the bands are the same length, no worries.

I didn't know any better so I started shooting trough down over 10 years ago. It just looked better to see the rounded top rather than an open cavity. These days I use the tri-fold method so there is no trough. Or, you could say there is a flattened trough going each way.

I tie my bands to the fork so they for a "V" when drawn for OTT shooting.

I believe if the bands form a "V" you get less fork hits when attached over the top. Just my opinion.

When shooting OTT I tie the pouch to band differently than my TTF band sets . The bands lay flat so the is no A or V or trough up or down . If I use TTF band set to shoot OTT the it's the V or trough facing up .

Not tried the OTT method with TTF, but TTF bands I've not found any difference shooting TTF or OTT
