I have never shot a gun of any sort and sure never will, just my choice.
If I understand , could be completely wrong,
One would disable saftey just before shot?
I always place my thumb on my bgun mouth piece
and inhale fully before placing mouth on bgun,
never inhale more after thumb removed,
Just my bgun saftey process.
I am sure it would suck, punny , to inhale a dart!
Thoughts? Other ways?

Inhaling before placing the mouth piece to mouth is the only ONLY way to do it . There is no other way . You could die from inhaling a dart .

After shooting for more than 10 years, it has become a muscle memory for me. It's never a proper method to inhale with mouth anyway. Slowly breathe in with the nose as if you're smelling something.

And as I use my tongue, there no way I can suck in a dart. Commercial blowgun safety ring is bad, even Micheal Janich doesn't like it. Commercial products need these safety to avoid getting into lawsuit after a kid ingests their products

The only gun safety applicable is not to aim at anyone you don't intend to kill, be it loaded or unloaded.

These kind words of wisdom will for sure be my added saftey process!
Using only nose for inhale is just so perfect and thinking of smelling something nice is fun,

I can get my hands on a calipers on Monday next week when I go back to work. I will bring my 4ft Pro Cold Steel and the darts. I'm also receiving those little funnels recently talked about in a different post here and I'm going to see if I can't make those work. I will definitely give an update on the actual size of the inner diameter and the actual size of the cones.

Yes still living here on the Front Range in Colorado love it here!

Cheers
