I'm new to slingshots (1 week) and this forum. Over the past 2 days i've been working on this catchbox after work. Let me know what you think.

Bottom of box is slanted forward and the ammo is funneled by these two wood pieces into the bucket. Currently using marbles for ammo, for a slingshot i'm using a cheap tubular slingshot from amazon, I'm waiting on a Axiom Ocularis from simpleshot.

I built mine the same way. I still have a magnet stick Incase steel bounces out. Every thing else falls in the bucket.
You have to keep it relatively clean though. Nice job! Enjoy your slingshot journey.

I actually used your catchbox for inspiration after searching on the forum! It looked great so I went with that general design.

With modern flatbands or tubes the Axiom Ocularis is going to be a big step up from 'a cheap tubular slingshot from amazon'. Especially because of the bands and pouch.

Welcome.

now your set up. I like using a dark plain cloth in the background. I think it makes the targets easier to see and where your ammo is missing its target.

Nice box :) I am a worry wart though and would put pool noodles over the forward edges of the box to mitigate return to senders, just my $0.02 :)

Great idea! Might have to pickup some pool noodles. I was also thinking about putting some carpet on the flat part at the front bottom of the box.

Looks great! How tall & wide is that?

The carpet is a good idea, it is surprising how fast that ammo can come back!

Indeed a nice lookin' box! The carpet on the front board addresses 1 of my concerns. If you have to move regularly for yard work and such, You will probably need cross bracing on all sides.
