Hello everyone. This is my first Moorhammer build. It's kinda different, I was going to use Jorge Spraves design, but I decided something different. As you can see I laminated it 4x as here in Albuquerque NM I cannot find a 3/4 of an inch thick Birch plywood. I'm not sure if I should work on it some more or leave it as is. And I took the pictures of it right after I tested it out, works great and It's accurate!

Fantastic. Since it works great and is accurate - my vote is leave it as it is and shoot it. Maybe build another one for show. Are you thinking of selling these? I would buy one as is - it would make a great “u-finish” product.

or maybe use CA to seal first, then rattle can finish, like Minwax Poly ?

( the CA I think would really help hold the laminations together well at the edges )

I'll try to keep this succinct. Sand until you are sick of it, then sand some more, wet and dry, then you can spray it with Poly and let it dry for a few days and rock on from there. But Boiled linseed oil will pop the grain ( no need to soak it, an hour will do) Let it drain a day and buff with paper towels. Again you can spray it and go from there. That is the non-OCD version. Super Glue makes a Great finish (SimpleShot video) but it is too much of a PITA for me. I like Tru-Oil. Glop on the first coat today and sand it off tomorrow, Steel Wool it and wipe down. From here, THIN coats. Gun patches make great applicators, rub it on like shoe polish. (Yes, I'm old. :neener: ) Let dry, wool it, wipe it, rinse and repeat. When you get tired of that, buff it with a piece of brown paper grocery bag, band it and shoot it.

Can you please give me more information? This is my very first build so I don't know what to do next.

T-Totally agree with everything @flipgun said.......especially the sanding part, and I too prefer an oil like BLO to pop the grain, or even Danish Oil. I have never used Tru-Oil yet, but plan to get some and give it a go.

The only reason I mentioned the CA glue, is I thought it might help seal the edges of the ply laminations together better.....but, as @flipgun stated, it is a total PITA to work with, smells horrible, and burns the crap out of your eyes so use in a well ventilated area should you decide to use it. ( another great product to pick up if you go to buy CA, is De-bonder.......because trust me, you WILL glue your danged fingers to something using CA, LOL )
