So it was only a matter of time before I did this. This thing fits my hand perfect. It is Oak but I am not sure what kind. Any suggestions on what to finish the wood with?

i prefer to keep the natural color, i would put a few coats of poly (or whatever protectand u use)

Yah, if you put a clear protectant coat on it then I think it will look better than a shiny poly coat
