Def not Holly or magnolia. Its Ailanthus altissima. This is commonly called the tree of heaven. The bark is often described as resembling a cantaloupe rind. Did it smell like peanuts when you sanded it?I'm with DSIL. But it could be Holly. Was it a smooth, greenish gray bark?![]()
