[Quercusuber]

Hello SlingshotForum friends!!

After an intermission time without carving (sucking all knowledge on blowguns this half of the year) I present my latest homemade one.

It was carved out from a wild olive tree branch, sturdy as a rock, and finished with linseed oil and beeswax. I wanted this one to don a bit of bark. So, to obey this, the design is not accurately symmetric.

About its name ...well, take it as you please.

As for me ...GOOD RIDDANCE!!

I have lots of great memories of olive branch forks, I grew up in and all around a huge olive orchard and canning company. Still to this day, they are my favorite

Me too! Haven't done enough bark-on slingshots yet.

Forks must have some certain conditions to do so though. Not every branch is doable.

They're indeed one of my favourite natural medium to carve slingshots on!!

Sturdy, pliable with an impeccable finish. Also olive wood is not prone to insect infestations, making it very durable.

And that is very curious, sir. I thought olive tree orchards thrived only on Mediterranean-climate areas. Are you perhaps from California??
