Hello Slingshot Forum friends!!!

I present another latest work of mine, this time in a reduced format :)

A small BB shooter, hand carved from a natural fork of orange tree (Citrus aurantium), and finished with linseed oil and natural beeswax.

It sports a bandset of Theraband Silver, cut for .177 caliber steel balls. Tiny, but packs a punch!!

Hope you guys like it!!!

Cheers ...Q

Amazing ! You have skills !
LOL!!! You've seen it, sir :) Well, I hope it will surprise you further in the flesh.

THANK YOU so much for your comment. Don't know what to say...

Glad to be here again!

Cheers ...Q

Agree with tree treefork and that grain looks beautiful
Greetings, sir!!! And MANY THANKS for taking a peek!

Yes, orange tree wood always surprises when dipped into oils or waxed. Seems to change its grain after the last stages of sanding.

But one of the secrets (a must) is that orange or lemon tree wood has to dry very well (this fork stayed for 3 years in a pile of forks that I have for completion)

Cheers ...Q

Looks awesome
Thank you so much for liking it!!

Plan to test it tomorrow with some BB's.

Greetings ...Q

A natural that after your work looks both like a natural and like a most precise board cut - not many people can make it, congratulations!
Oh my... Sir, I don't deserve it. Many times I watch my carving knife do all the work.

Looks like rubbish what I'm saying but, believe me, its true. You know ;)

Orange wood is indeed a pleasure to work with. Very pliable yet sturdy and grainy.

THANK YOU so much for your awesome comment. You're most kind!!!

Best regards ...Q

Slingshots are made to give away. What a nice gesture giving that little beauty away. And it is a BEAUTY!!
Thank you so much for your rewarding feedback!!!

Glad you've liked it :) And yes, I believe in the sharing side of the slingshot tribe. But some folks make them for a living and we can't blame them too. They're artists in their own way.

Cheers ...Q

wow Q that frame rocks man its a real looker very nice indeed sir !
Thank you so much, my friend!!!

I'm happy that you've liked my work :)

Best regards ...Q

Im loving that shape and the wood it beautiful! Nice work!
Many thanks!! The fork was asking for this design, although, during the carving phase, the slingshot suffered many changes of shape.

But in the end this one stayed!!

Cheers ...Q

That is fantastic!
Thank you so much for your great feedback, sir!!!

Cut lil Catty !!! You have some serious shaping skills
I'm so glad you've liked it!!

Still learning here with the masters ;)

Best regards ...Q

Another stunner! Can't say I'm surprised, though. ;)

I think this is the first time I've seen orange tree wood, thanks for sharing!
Thank you so much, my friend!!!

Actually, natural forks of orange tree are rare to come by, even here.

Pruning has its fixed season of the year. The leftovers are not used for many things and the pieces left outdoors rot very quickly.

But when properly kept and harvested, orange wood is amazing!!

Q is back!!!

That is stunning work Q - a great representation of your skills and individual style.

Really disappointed I missed out on the giveaway - Flatband is one lucky guy.
My friend, how are you?? Hope everything's fine!!

THANKS for the comment. This will not be the last time I'm gonna make a giveaway. You're always free to participate :)

Best regards ...Q

I really like the sculpting on this one. Tiny frame, big presence.
And packs a punch! :)

Thank you so much for liking it!!

Wow That looks outstanding. What type of bands are those?
MANY THANKS, my friend!!!

Those are Theraband Silver, tappered for .177 calibre steel balls (BB's)

They are very fast and easy to pull. BB shooters are addictive!! :)

Hi, I just create a account on this forum. I'm also from Portugal and it's nice to see that you are portuguese to.

Did you have any store where in Portugal?
Well hello, fellow countryman!!! Welcome to the addiction!

Nope, sir. No store. Difficult to find a slingshot-related store in the World, let alone in Portugal :)

So I will have to make my own , ahahahahahah.

I sent a Facebook friend request to you, if I have any particular questions about the type of Portuguese trees that are best suitable for slingshot, where did you get the straps (the common name where in Portugal) , I can ask you through Facebook message.

I really like your slingshots. In the morning I will check everything to get some inspiration and ideas.

Thanks for the help ;)
