This is a rough idea of how I do my natties. when I do the next one ill take better photos and a bit more detail.
So this is just a rough guide for now.
1st I cut an over size fork a little to long to allow for cracking whilst drying.
Drying can take upto 12 months+ I use a moisture meter to check and only use if under 10% moisture.
Then cut it roughly the size your natty is going to be then plane (I use a hand held electric plane) both sides flat to about 50mm thick plank.
Then draw the shape from a template and cut out using a scroll saw with 6tpi blade so you've got your shape.
After this (sorry got no photos) I use a hand grinder with a 80 grit flapper pad to rough shape it then finally use a dremel and sand paper.
Hope this helps a bit.
