Hello Slingshot Forum friends!

Here's another work of mine, a somewhat "classic" slingshot carved from a cork oak (Quercus suber) natural fork. It was finished with linseed oil and natural beeswax. I've kept a bit of the cork in the handle, which has an aesthetic value and gives a bit of balance when handling the slingshot, sideways shooting style. The bands are inner rubber tube, with a big rock pouch (number 35) from SuperSure.

Hope you folks like it!!

Cheers ...Q

Awesome !
Hello my friend!!!

Hope everything's well with you, sir!!

THANK YOU so much, as always for your feedback. I'm glad you've liked it!!

The bands were an experiment, just to remember the taste of good ol' inner tire rubber.

But once you know Theraband and the likes, you never go back to it :)

Best regards ...Q

That slingshot is beyond beautiful.

Gorgeous and that burl is fantastic
THANK YOU so much for your reply!!!

That burl you're referring is actually its bark. The wood is very solid and dry, so, with the oil, everything looks like burl :)

Actually, it did surprised me when I was finishing it. Didn't imagine that its colour would acquire this look.

Best regards, my friend!!

Morena has captured my heart!

Thanks for sharing her with us, Amigo!
Truly one of a kind. I love the cork on the handle. Very impressive.
I love this frame!!!
Wow!! That's got to be one of the nicest naturals I've ever seen. Excellent work.
Stunning work as always - with that slim wast and colour - the name is apt!

Either used for shooting, or for an art exhibition, it is equally gorgeous!

cheers,

jazz
You are so lucky to have that Oak available to you! Nice work, Q !! :looney:
My dear friends, THANK YOU SO VERY MUCH for your amazing comments!!!!

Without you, it would be meaningless to present any work on the Web. Plus, you are the best "audience": knowledgeable, experienced and crazy about slingshots!! :D

I beg your pardon for answering to your replies en masse, but the amount of posting in the Web has been very demanding.

Just for curiosity, "Morena" means in Portuguese "woman or girl with sun-tanned skin" :D

BEST REGARDS...
