I bought a scroll saw this week and even if i wanted to wait till the weekend to try it i had some spare time today and so i grabbed myself this G20 Design by Gopher and gave it a try. I was lucky today as i got ,7in multiplex 3ft x 3ft for a few bucks.
I am not sure what to do next. It's birch multiplex and i like the shiny look of the wood. So maybe just poly it. But maybe i should put some oil it to get some texture. Or ink it to get it textured and colored. And poly it after that... wahh... i don't know what to do

Cutting it out. With a bit more experience with this scroll saw i will cut out my slingshots so much faster in the future, i love it!
After sanding, rounding edges, modding the fingergrips and the other stuff needed to done:

- burning in the Logo
- finish it with?

if you choose just to polly it make sure the first 2 coats a VERY THIN, if you put it on to thick it brings the fibres of the wood up and you get a rough finish, putting 2 realy thin coats on at first seals the wood and ends up with a shiny smooth finish

As i wasn't sure if i should oil it or not i've choosen to oil it now and then poly finish it. Anyway thanks for your tips with pure poly as i will make another one tomorrow (got some more free time) and the other one will get just the poly finish.
I second, third and fourth this recommendation. I make a 25 mile each way trip to pick this stuff up. It's easy to use and gives a great finish. I use the satin and the wood comes out very nice without looking like plastic.
Finished it with poly and put bands on it to try it shooting. When i get my sprayable poly i will put on some more layers and polish it up to make it real nice and shiny. But for now i wanted to try to shoot it a bit and its quite accurate. As far as i am able to tell
