Not Flipping your Pickle? (PFS Technique Thread)

Do you ever shoot PFS
without tweaking?
without twisting?
without flipping?

I find that when aiming with an FPS, I do not flip my wrist at all. I just twist and tweak, but my slingshot hand just behaves as if I shoot OTT.

When I shoot intuitive without aiming, I do not tweak my pouch. I just twist and flip my wrist in one quick motion. My grip is also different. I normally shoot sideways, but intuitive, I shoot at a 45 degree cant.

Could you share how y'all shoot PFS? What do you do and what DONT you do. Do you also break "rules" to PFS technique?

No twist or tweak , frame upright and canted slightly to the target holding the Ammo rather than the pouch

No twist or flip just tweak. My bands are setup to where I don't need to twist the pouch.

Interesting. I have found that I have less of a tweak when holding more upright.

I have experimented with no twist, tweak, or flip at all. I found it hit or miss. Like 1 in every 10 shots in that shooting style gets me a fork hit. How differently do you set up the bands?

It's called pre-turned band attachment.

I'm not up to speed on nomenclature, but I turn my pouch 90⁰ and then create a speed bump off my thumb to encourage the shot over the top. I actually do this on most slings because I find it more comfortable to hold, and it doesn't side load my index finger the way my "normal" hold does.

My daily carry is technically a gapper, but it must be shot like a PFS to avoid fork hits.

Looks like it’s going to be a whole new world when I make the jump into PFS. Sure does seem like a lot of folks enjoy it though!

I do twist but im not bumping any more. My forks are pointed forward alot, not flipping intentionally it does that by it self 😆. Never tried preturned bands. Shoot sideway and thumb to cheek.

I do always shoot with a twist too :D it's a more natural position for me, even with OTT. I rarely shoot TTF, but that would be the exception to twisting for me.

I do find myself bumping less, the more I point the fork forward :)

I highly recommend watching these two videos.

They have been a tremendous help to me in learning to shoot the pfs.

Thanks! Yeah, I love the way things wear with use, and this one keeps getting prettier with age.

My head say no to this. With a twist the idea is that the bands will untwist and open as normal going over the forks. With pretwisted bands thats not happening. Im scard to imagine what happes with pretwisted bands going over the forks. It works but still my head say No No No 😆
