My hand is finally starting to get better (6 months later) so, I'm getting back to building some flips. Slowly working away as to not get any setbacks.
I hand carved this oak natty and sanded it to 400...I was initially planning to do a tru-oil finish, but decided to see what BLO would look like so i applied one coat at this point. I like using tru-oil because it can be built up to a high gloss, and it's a really durable finish that protects from dings and scratches, but oil feels more natural...less slippery...normally I sand to 2000, but I ran out of 600 and 800 sandpaper...that was another reason for considering tru-oil...to build up a nice glossy finish. I'm now thinking after a half dozen coats of blo and a good buff with a cotton shirt, it might look pretty good anyways.
Let me know what you think please. Constructive criticism is welcomed and appreciated
