Hey friends, I pray all of you are well. Thought I would show this olive wood pocket thumper I finished up this week. It sports a hand rubbed and buffed finish along with a brass lanyard pommel. I'm not a wood guy, but I had a blast with this one and I'm happy with how it turned out.

Please let me know what you all think!

I think you got it. A wise man once told me, "Think of wood like steel, but softer".

Thanks buddy! You could always think of steel like wood, but harder :) Steel is easier, no grain (well, there is a grain) no bad spots and no top coat to apply. Also it takes longer to make a mistake, so your more apt to catch it before you do lol

That is gorgeous Shane, just beautiful.....you might not "think" you're a wood guy, but take it from a definite wood guy, I believe you got a little saw dust running through those veins too my friend.

Appreciate the kind words Darrell. I really enjoy wood working, especially after cutting metal 50 hours a week.
