Fellow Slingsters. Welcome to my over-ambitious learning experience! You watched me pull off a couple of homemade cored frames, a couple of semi-cored, a few natties, and now these. I have been on a Sling journey of discovery trying to find 'my thing'. With the amazing help of a few exceptional Forum Members, I went at this stick like a toothless man at a Jello Buffett.
I will be sending these 3 MoFirsts out into the slingworld as a thank you for the support, and to make sure the SlingGods keep dropping amazing chunks of wood into my backyard.
Stuff I've learned:
Black Walnut is as hard as nails.
One Stick, One Sling..next time!
Go slower and use a magnifying glass to assess your work.
Even the 'simplest' design will look weak if the lines are not exact. Seeing an interrupted curve is just horrible, especially AFTER you are finished.
I know these will shoot and feel like a slingshot, especially to the new owners!

Count on my next effort at the Chalice to be so close to perfect that it will bring a tear to my eye!

1. Full Chalice
2. 75% Chalice
3. Conus

Thanks for looking. Critique's and Pointers are welcome! Mo

Those look nice Mo.

the joys of symmetrical designs ;-)
You meant 'pain' correct?! There is something to be said for 'freewheeling'. But when trying to complete a Classic Frame I see more wobbles than I thought possible on something with basically 3 sides!

Beautiful work.
Yo Luk. It would make your head spin in regards to how many times I reached out to one particular carving professional here on the Forum. I won't name names because he is modest and private and likely thought I had fallen off of my own nut tree!
