Just thought this would be mildly interesting: I have a nasty habit of leaning my head over to sight down the band. My pouch tie stung my face several times during my shooting session. I didn't realize it until I came in and looked in the bathroom mirror, but I had a small spot burned into my cheek and some blood spatter on my glasses. I shall live to sling another day!

Has your tie off got the knot on the outside?, I remember watching another video on YT where the guy said he places the tie and or open end of the rubber fold on the insie to prevent this kind of thing from happening

Yup. The tag end of the band is on the outside. I didn't have it cut very short. That's what was swiping my face each time.

Got this great idea for a new toy. It's called a slingshot!

What you do is fire stuff like really, really fast, past yer face and just dodgin' yer fingers.

What could possibly go wrong?

Right! I think that the slingshot was probably a member of the really dangerous toy club of the 50s - 70s that somehow survived to the present. There's probably a memorial wall somewhere with pictures of the real action bazooka, the plastic bullet firing cap pistol, lawn darts, and the mail order mini nuclear reactor science experiment set. Ahhh, childhood without safety regulations!

I had similar thing happened to my face. I don't remember how it doesn't happen anymore. I guess somehow I adjusted the way I aim. It hurts, so stop doing that. Probably that was what happened.

I must have missed out on the mini nuclear reactor science experiment set but I did have a chemistry kit capable of making the sort of corrosive and flammable compounds which would now require an exclusion zone.

Set fire to the lino in my Mom's kitchen by hitting a bunch of plastic toy-gun caps with a hammer. Among other things. /wasn't me :king:
