Oven roasted sugar maple natty

I sanded this one to 800 grit and finished it with boiled linseed oil..
It's designed for tabs but it handles flats equally well.
Thanks for viewing

Superb finishing. Is boiled linseed oil water-proof?
Thank you....Yes...It protects the wood by repelling water...and it makes the grain pop

Nice ! I love how roasting brings out the shimmering rays in Maple, beautiful Len.

Yeah...maple tends to get added depth from the roasting....due to the crystallization of the sugar in the sap...

I can tell a lot of love and patients went into this divine piece. The copper spots are a nice little additive.
Thanks...I took my time...just tried to get it nice and smooth

Howdy.....You know how much I like natural forks and this one is nothing short of fantastic. Love it,
GP
Thank you GP...your opinion is always much appreciated, and valued
I've been building more naturals lately...something about uncovering the grain and working with it to find a complimentary shape...very challenging and rewarding...the roasting process just seems to add another dimension to the build, and to the character of the wood.
