Does anyone have any information about this slingshot? A close examination reveals small nails through the top of the fork. I believe this is to keep the bands in place.

Looks like it took a couple of fork hits. Just a little added character.

The more I look at this I think its repurposed. The throat area looks way rougher and newer cut than the outer. Also the handle end looks a little miss-shaped. So suspect the basic outer shape came from something else - maybe a paddle or a pedal of a foot operated something...

The nails remind me a lot of the flexible letter hinges like you'd get on a pedal operated wool spinning machine - so could have been for leather tabs - or thongs used for a quick-attachment method I have seen.

All in all its an interesting thing.

It reminds me of the souvenir slingshots that were common some years back. It could be a copy or one with the throat enlarged.
