I am still a novice at making bands I must admit, making only about half a dozen so far. I stumbled upon a video by Bill Hays: Slingshot know how, video from our included DVD

Within this great resource Mr Hayes discusses the use of a paper guillotine. I thought I would like to give a self sharpening paper guillotine a try. Well I am impressed, I can cut with laser precision bands and tie on material (Theraband Gold) without obstruction of a steel ruler. I think Bill is on a winner here. A self sharpening guillotine should last a lifetime with proper care.

Please share your thoughts and experiences on the use of a paper guillotine to cut flat bands. Thank you Bill Hayes for sharing your knowledge.

There is nothing better then a Guillotine type cutter for rubber ,leather, and other materials that require a good ,sharp ,clean cut. I've been using one for over 40 years. Get a good one. I personally like the Maple bed 15" Ingento. It'll set you back around $130-$150. Been awhile since i bought one so the price may be off. Have fun and BE CAREFUL!

Thank you to all who replied to this thread. Some very experienced shooters. I am honored. The guillotine is brilliant, I just made my first bandset today with it and it is as you said Flatband "This is the baby" :)
