Hey all!
Ive been working on a forth frame, this time in steel. I very much liked the pommel shape of the last frame i did, and decided i wanted a nice heavy frame with a proper authentic pommel setup.
Having areal pommel and tang design is almost pointless, but it means i can pull ot apart and redo the handle if it gets scruffy or if i want to redesign it.
Its very much not finished, I still need to wrap the wooden handle with a strip of leather... I KNOW I have a meter of the stuff laying around somewhere, can't for the life of me find it.
I also want to decorate the pommel and the forks with some designs, ideally the forks will have elder Furthark (viking runes) along them, saying 'AIM TRUE' (ᚨᛁᛗ ᛏᚱᚢᛖ) on the shooter side, and 'pew pew pew' (ᛈᛖᚹ ᛈᛖᚹ ᛈᛖᚹ) on the shootee side. But for that I'd need to either buy a set of hardened rune punches (expensive), make my own (so damn fiddly) or grind them in, or acid etch it, by hand.
All those solutions are pretty daunting to me.
Anyway, here it is as it exists currently.
Bonus pics of how some of my chili plants are doing.
Chilis, front to back are, scotch bonnet, capsica brazil, habinero.
Beer is coopers pale ale.
Ill update when i finally get around to decorating and finishing it.
EDIT
Oh, and i forgot, here are two pictures showing it disassembled, i ran out of light just now so these are from a few days ago.
The taper is a good fit, a slight tap with anything hard and its impossible to pull it off by hand.
