Pouches. Let’s have a fun informative talk on which pouch you like best and why

I’m trying to come up with the ideal pouch for me, and I figure this is the best way. I use 5/8 Super Shure pouches, but for one reason or another I haven’t found them lately. I’m always open to suggestions. I shoot 5/16and 3/8 steel. The following is my reason for not searching more on my own. My Favorite Mother In Law just turned 87????????❤ And lives 30 miles from us. She does extremely well on her own, but we still try to help her as much as we can. The second reason is my wife just had some cancer removed which can take its toll on a person’s mental state. We are very thankful they were able to get the cancer removed completely???? I wanted to let everyone know Why Im hit and miss on posting.

Having raised and lost a son on a ventilator and having had cancer 5 different times I have first hand experience with the complications of life Tag. I'm glad to hear they were successful in removing the cancer.

After you get through something like that it possitively affects everything. The sky is bluer and people are better looking. But the process is scary. i'll keep you two in my prayers.

I'm in the middle of changing my whole kit. I'm shooting smaller slingshots, shorter bands and I'm shooting and enjoying the new synthetic pouches. After cupping them with a little heat I'm finding that they are small, strong and super durable. There's no stretch and so the center hole does not stretch out and there is no danger of the ball slipping through the pouch. It looks like, apart from my full-on hunting set-up (3/8 inch lead cubes, full butterfly with elk pouch) I'm done with leather all together.

I like Super Sures and have quite a few, I just hope they last a long time.

I'm glad to hear everyone is doing well and that your wife has come through her ordeal OK. I too have had a couple bouts with cancer and while it's hard to admit it at times, it certainly does affect your mental state. They hit you with some very powerful drugs and I had radiation to my head and neck, there's no way it can't affect you.

Give her a smooch for me, Tag!!!!

Nothing much I can contribute on pouches, but Tag, you and yours ( as well as anyone else ) dealing with sickness will be in my thoughts and prayers

I'm still on the journey for the "perfect" pouch myself. I've always just cut my own from whatever leather I had at the time. But lately I have been shooting warrior pouches that Ibojoe gave me and loving them. As well as the gzk pouches I got from J5. I also thought I would hate the microfibre pouches, but for small ammo I actually really like them. And then I'll go put one of my old hand cut leather pouches I've been shooting for 3 years and go; oh yes this feels familiar, I like this. So maybe I like them all!?! I guess it's the same as how i can't settle on one band or frame. I like shooting everything.

Also Tag, you guys are in my prayers always.

This is pretty much one of the main pouches I have been using lately. It's a micro fiber pouch that is tougher then heck. Here is a link https://www.ebay.com/itm/Powerful-Microfiber-Leather-Catapult-Slingshot-Pouch-Anti-skid-Set-of-5-10-20Pcs/323336445542?_trkparms=aid%3D111001%26algo%3DREC.SEED%26ao%3D1%26asc%3D20160811114145%26meid%3Dfcc337dbaff641c9821282556d851316%26pid%3D100667%26rk%3D1%26rkt%3D8%26mehot%3Dnone%26sd%3D323336445542%26itm%3D323336445542%26pmt%3D1%26noa%3D1%26pg%3D2334524&_trksid=p2334524.c100667.m2042

This pouch is great for 3/8, 7/16 and 1/2 ball. I use it for 3/8 steel all the time (3/8 steel ball in my hand). They are also very, very reasonably priced ;- )

Hey you guys, I'm wishing you all well. That cancer is the most horrible stuff imaginable. Lost my wife and her dad to that stuff. I hate it, but I haven't been much good since my wife went through it.

Getting on to pouches, I like the "glovey" stretchy, soft ones like elk or chemical tanned leather. Just something about feeling the whole shubang between thumb and finger.

Tried the man made stuff on some premade band sets I ordered. Haven't tried the heat trick yet.

First Tag, glad to hear everyone is doing well!

I've mostly settled on good ol' fashioned soft leather. Top one is very soft top grain leather from Tripwire. A little big for 3/8 (still works well though) so use those mostly for 7/16 and marbles. Next is leather HTH pouch from Double L. I like them a lot. Last is plain old hand cut quality leather from an ebay seller. They work great. Sometimes I cut a little strip from the top and bottom for use with 3/8, but can't really say there is a difference from full size.

Hey Tag! .. I am very glad to hear the good news about removing the cancer .. I could only imagine the feeling of it all ... I hope it stays away buddy ... stay positive !

I will share my favorite pouch .. I have used big tubes on these pouches .. huge tapers for shooting lead .. and NEVER broke one.. bot too sure what kind of magic the chinese put into these . But they are rediculiously tough and dont stretch! They are super light And I can shoot semi accurately with them what more would we need in a pouch? .. I prefer these for 8 to 9mm ammo

Been missing you buddy, but I understand taking care of those we love. You definitely have my prayers.
As far as pouches I'm also in sort of a transition. I've always loved the feel of fine leather but Joey sent me som fiber pouches that we're really easy for me to grip. The gzk with the rough side out work for me especially since Winnie came up with the pocket making miracle. But for butterfly I still like a single layer SS pouch. I have to grip funny so the soft leather doesn't hurt my hand. I also use Rayshot s super light roo pouches
I guess this is my top three

Hey tag! Great to see you around buddy! I'm definitely keeping you and your family in my thoughts and prayers. Glad to hear everything is ok.

As for pouches, I've also grown to really like microfiber. But for leather SuperSure pouches are second to none. These are currently my most used pouches. From top to bottom: GZK p4g, wu jim size 5013, GZK p5b.
