Just bought some more pouches, been buying the 50mm length size a lot for ammo in the 1/4' to 5/16" size, have plenty of pouches for 3/8" to 1/2" already. Almost all the pouches i have been getting are micro fiber lately and have had very good luck with them.

For the smaller ammo that I have been playing with the small pouches really shine. very little weight and a small profile for low wind drag.

How many of you guys are using smaller pouches then we did just a few years ago ? Now I still shoot my marbles and stuff like that so I do need a good size pouch, but in general I have been using smaller pouches for stuff.

How say you ?

Well I'll let you know, I ordered 43mm x 13mm x 10mm that is made for 6mm, 7mm, and 8mm ammo specially. Since I'm shooting 85% 1/4" and the rest 5/16" (8mm) these pouches should be perfect ... we will see ! I will report on these when I get them.

wll, my best pouches are still my own hand cut leather, simple and mostly rectangular.

And it is impossible, to date, to get a better feel than Rayshot's SuperSure pouches, IMHO.

But, I shoot a lot of small Chinese Microfiber pouches.

The performance is great. longevity is great, and the feel is good.

I really love having all these options.

Yes, I do agree with you .. I have a "BUNCH" of Rays pouches and they are my go to in my F-16's when I'm tossing 1/2" steel and heavy lead, they are made extremely well and last a long time.

The Micro Fiber pouches are great for my 3/8" steel and under (I use them mostly for 5/16" and under. and it is the only pouch I use for 177 cal BB's).. I like the heat forming ability and they are very cheap. For ammo that is small, for me the micro fiber is tough to beat.

I don't know if Ray has any pouches that are made just for small ammo, I will have to check, as Rays are very good feeling in your fingers.

46mm MF is as short as I'll go for small ammo. Once I tested 42mm Warrior BB pouches but the tubes thru the pouch holes with the ties are too crowded for me when the pouch is folded around the ammo. Plus, they were laminated so it became a short, chunky, too thick situation. I really like a small center hole to quickly center small ammo, as well as matching the folded ends.

I prefer at least a 55mm length for 3/8 steel. A friend took out an expensive mirror in his hallway when a 3/8 steel slipped out of a 46mm pouch in a less than mindful moment.

Mates,

I would like to give back to this forum that has given me some much information.

I purchased micorfibre pouch material from GZK and would warn you against doing the same. Maybe I got a bad batch, I don't think so, GZK sent me two types. The amount of stretch was actually dangerous. With the pouch die I used, the bands flew thru the mechanical release of my slingshot rifle stretching around and over my 8mm steel. The centre hole is 3.5mm, the ammo 8mm so it stretches over 100%.. Maybe the bands are good but the microfibre is dangerously useless.

This stuff is scary and I am very reluctant to use it now.

So having read many posts about what is the best I have found and purchased Kangaroo Leather tail.

What a fantastic forum this is.

I found some old shoe leather, punched it with the die and it was worse than the GZK micorfibre. After looking at SuperSure Pouches and Warrior pouches I saw they were two layers of leather together. So I am trying it.

Conatct cement with a piece of some old work overalls (tough stuff) on the GZK micorfibre

two layers of shoe leather and

overalls with shoe leather, put in between some G-clamps and timber.. now wait for 24hours

Maybe I can resurrect this microfibre with some laminating. I hope it works.

I will post on the results.

Salutations to the members at slingshotforum PK.

The options sure make it fun to experiment. My favorite pouch material is still kangaroo hide. I have pouches I punched out a while back and they are still exactly the same size / shape as the day I cut them even after being used on several band sets. Finally found a good deal on some more of the amazing stuff so I will be making more and possibly switching over to them exclusively :)

I have been useing these ammo centering pouches for 8mm ammo from gzk. I love them. They are quick to load and easy to keep in place. The black ones for the same ammo size gzk has are bigger, thicker and dont perform nearly as well in my opinion. I mostly shoot these...... but I do have some warrior Apache and HTH bone pouches in roo leather coming so my opinion may change but these are the best I have tried so far!

I really like the small pouches. I cut this from some kangaroo leather. I patterned it (poorly) from one of the small microfiber pouches in the picture that came on some bands. It's 2" x 3/8" at the narrowest. It's probably got 300 shots on it now shooting both 3/8 and 5/16th and is holding up and performing well.
It did stretch a little initially but has been constant since then.

I really like the small microfiber like the one in the picture too my only issue I've had is that Once they start getting worn from use the texture changes and i can't always get a consistent release. I like the leather better in that regard.
