Now I've made a 40fltbs starship cannon I needed something to shoot it against.
This is made from 3 lengths of pine, some paracord and an old cotton dustsheet.
It withstands the 1" balls from the starship, I have to reset the position of the dustsheet every few shots as it tends to gather up in the middle.
The balls push the sheet up quite high and then they drop to the ground where they can be collected.

(Be careful it does not hit the wall behind because that will probably send you the the hospital if you are unfortunate enough to be hit. )
