Hey folks,

I just got some .65 precise band material and I decided to make some bands for my latest build.

The bands I cut/I'm using are 12-8mm tapers, active length 8 and 1/8" or 20.5cm.

None of my other bands have dented a can like this while also penetrating both sides!

However, it seems like the longer I aim the less accurate I am, like the bands are loosing power. So I'm trying to aim very quickly and release which is really throwing off my grouping.

Thought some of you might find my experience interesting and I'm open to advice with the use of this new material!

Have you noticed any loss in power if you hold a draw to long? I don't seem to have that issue at all with the .4 bands I've been using from simple shot.

Some bands have a lot better retraction rate then others. Take a piece, lay it on your measuring mat and mark down exactly how long it is. Then stretch it to the max elongation, hold it stretched out for 5 +- seconds, then lay it back on the mat and see if it returns to its original length and if it's not immediately then time it. I've only used the .4 Precise and honestly, I'm just not impressed with it at all, when comparred to other top brands as far as accuracy. It has great speed, but it doesn't always retract all the way quickly or evenly. I could have a bad roll, but I've put it on the back burner because a band broke after just a few shots.

For accuracy, I love the ALS from slingshooting.com. A lot of the guys love the 100% slingshot also but I haven't had the need to order any yet. Another great band for accuracy is the Yongshuihu...

i dont use tapers,but i like the simple shot blacks-.06-not the -.08- so much,although the .08 cut at 1/4 inch,and an AL of about 7-71/2 inches flings 177s up to 5/16s pretty good,it does break rather quickly tho,the .06 seems a little better at lasting,same cutsbut only 177s and 1/4 in steels-3/8s clays,also TBG,but 3/8s wide

i should add,i am still learning about 177 bands and pouches as i used to just use #64 rubber bands and thin glove leather pouches

ammo pinch will put some callous on your finger tips,lol,and i only tried it with 5/8s marbles and WIDE forks,lol

Sumike is good for speed, I love it for that but there's a big difference between its speed and the consistent shot placement of the ALS & Yongshuihu. I use those 3 brands of latex over most of the others... and I have a lot of other brands like SimpleShot, Precise, BSB & both types of SoBong. They all work, but each one feels different. Right now, I've got the BSB on my EVO Ergo still and it's lasting just fine. I've been shooting it for a couple of weeks, but every slingshot that I have is set up differently, different brands, different tapers for different ammo, etc... and I shoot them all daily.
