I've heard that most people rough cut their slingshot, then file it down. But with the file I have, it would take hours to even scratch the surface of the wood. Is this to be expected, or am I just using a bad file. I could also use any pieces of advice that you can give. Thanks. -Matt

Thanks for the advice. I just ordered a rasp off Ebay about 5 minutes ago. If it works well, I'll keep you updated. I also have a top secret slingshot idea in the works.

A scrollsaw will cut out a slingshot to finished size and a router will round over the edges and cut grooves for rubber ties pretty easily.
