Here is my review of the Tex-shooter Express Bands:

Construction:
I have to say that these are well made bands, and consist of two latex strips on each side. The tie on the pouch seems to use a natural fiber thread, and is tied (from what I can tell) using a secure constrictor knot. The pouch is smaller than average, which Bill says give you higher ammo velocity due to reduced mass. The pouch has a single centered pocket for the ammo, which should keep the ammo on target all the way through the band retraction. The bands are thick, but pliable. According to my micrometer, the combined thickness of the bands on each side is .06".

Fit and Finish:

The cuts on the bands are impeccable, they are perfectly cut. The leather on the pouch is medium thickness and is textured like a short pile suede. The leather is somewhat stiff, but not too stiff. It is similar in stiffness to commercial pouches. The dimple in the middle is very well defined, I assume that it was formed with water or heat.

Usage:
These things FLY! I was getting killer speeds out of my Saunders Falcon-2! My unscientific feeling is that it was faster than the speeds I got with the Mamba bands on my Saunders Pro. They were really that fast. Unfoutunatly, I am not a good enough shot to rate accuracy from one band to the next. However, they seemed every bit as accurate as other flat bands out there. The pull weight vs power ratio seems very good. I would have expected the pull to be higher considering the speed!

Overall, I highly recommend these bands!

Aaron, you have just confirmed my suspicion, The Tex Express Bands are the finest bands. Thanks Aaron for that helpful review. And thanks Tex for providing such a fine product.

Will Aaron I myself had fallen prey to the assumption that increased draw tention translates into increased velocity and power. This impression was put to rest for me after compareing impact created by trumark heavy draw bands with the tappered red bands from the same company. The medium I used was old discarded doors made of thin plywood with corigation inbetween. The ammo I used was 50 cal. lead balls. As for outcome will the heavy draw bands produced enough energy to punch through one door and come to rest inside the second. Fair enough energy good penetration but then I tested the tapered bands will the 50 cal ball went straight through two of those old doors and dropped just behind it. And honestly I was likely a few steps back when I shot the tappered bands. The tappered bands have a much lighter draw but the energy created by the tappered bands as measured by effective penetration it delivers much more. To be fair the slingshot I had the heavy draw bands on did have a more narrow folk assocated with it and the heavy draw bands had been used a couple times and the tappered bands where fresh out of the package. ALL this said I learned a valuable lesson that tex himself told me earlier but that in my naturally stubborn disposition had to learn for myself. That is pull and power are not mutually connected in all instances. Thanks for the review Aaron and Tex im sold on your bands! You will be seeing an order from me in the future.
