Hey party people!

I bought my first thera band today, in the hopes of making flatbands. They seem quite populour, so much so I think I seen someone name thier user as such! (Hello Flatband)

I bought red, green and black.

I've been playing around with it a bit, reading as many threads as possible on how to cut it etc.

Instead of folding, or cutting into strips, is it possible/practical to roll the full width thera band into a tube size? Ie, use a full width (15cm band) and roll it up so I could use smaller forks/clamps etc?

How would this compare to tubes?

I´ve tried that, and it seems to work fine, but i had a very nasty expirience with it though..... A 1/2" steelball got caught in the "rubberroll" and that really gave a handslap on steroids
(acctually it happend twice i think..)

hi hrawk im from aus too, just wondering where do you get your thera-band?
and ive been using 2 strips per side.
I just walk down to my local phisio and buy it off the shelf by the meter. It's a bit pricey @ $5 a meter but quick and easy, no minimum buy.

Yellow pages time, find your closest physio, chances are they will have Thera or Ausband in stock. Ausband is cheaper by half and appears to be the same.

I think I've even seen it at Rebel sports once.

Rolling is a loose term so it may depend on how tight you mean the roll is made.

I have used a lot of thera blue 3inch tapered to 2inch so I have to reduse it's width. Essentially I fold it in thirds to fit on the fork. Because of rubbers natural tendency to want ot go back to it's relaxed state it can resemble a roll. Yet still not tight.

The only time I had an issue with the above set up was when it was folded to 1/4ths and looked like a roll. The 3/8 shot got hung up twice and hit me each time in the same spot on my finger. The problem was not as much the tightness of the roll as the way it was postioned off the top of the fork. Keep the open side of the fold/roll to the out side. As best I can tell the way the tube bunches as it nears the forks the open side that is to much to the inside, hangs things up and results in a "backfire" if you will.
