Hello all,
I'm planning on getting my a second frame. My first is a Scout LT. It's awesome. It's very versatile and has let me experiment with different styles and setups.

I want a second so I don't have to switch bands between my light and heavier setups.

For my next one I want it to be a TTF That I can shoot sideways hold with a pinch grip. Id like an aiming groove but I can add that myself I suppose. I'd say I have medium sized hands.

I really like the looks of the pocket predator scorpion and people on here have said a lot of good stuff about it. Would anyone suggest anything else in that price range (less than $50). That meets the above criteria?

Thanks,
Scrat

Hi S,

I have a pp sideshooter, target sniper & scorpion.....Like them all, but they are just a bit too large for my preferences now that I've been shooting a year +...…..I'd strongly suggest the TTF mini-tarus……….It has become my favorite...….Think you'll love how it fits in your hand & shoots...…….

Scrat. If somebody told me a few years ago what I am about to tell you I would scoff, spit, and put a ding in their mailbox. But I am going to do it anyway, because I am smarter now.
Get a second Scout LTE and run it TTF with your heavier bands (or tubes!). Shoot the Scrat out of it. Rinse and repeat. Work em' out, beat em' up, carry them everywhere. Hopefully you find yourself comfortably accurate in both styles. After you have learned your WaxOnWaxOff then go spring for some Cherry Pie SlingFrame and shoot it like you own it. I dunno. I like making, and buying, and trying, and lying. But the greatest thing of all about shooting a slingshot, is just shooting it!

Haha, I don't think your out of your mind Mo. The biggest theme in every post here about improving skills seems is consistency so the logical thing to do would be use the same frame for new setups that way you are changing less variables. That said, who wants to be logical with so many awesome designs out there. I assume that's why folks end up with such awesome collections.

Slingdude, boomslang, Thanks for the recommendations on the Taurus. it looks really comfortable and that price is hard to beat. I had read the scorpions are pretty large. Mr. Hays makes it look small with those big hands. Seems you can't go wrong with a pocket predator though.

Thelzer, I was really close to getting the axiom instead of the scout. I just wasn't sure about that plug setup. You like it pretty well though?

It is my go to, plus it has a sight groove in two different spots, makes it real easy to help get those shots on target.

I like the grip of the Pocket Predator Scorpion a lot but I have large hands. The only thing was that I like ott more than ttf so I modded my Scorpion to ott, but if you want a ttf shooter it is hard to beat Pocket Predator designs, the man can design ttf :)

Thanks for the input gentlemen. I think I'm gonna go for the Taurus for this one.

Mo, an SPS is on my wish list for sure. They are such a cool looking design to me. Gotta wait until my piggy bank gets a little fuller though.

YESSSSSS!!!! Pay no attention to the fact that this SERE is banded OTT. I just mounted a $1 light on it about an hour ago; so felt compelled to add this on to what Bushpot said.

If you want to try a new style of frame as well as just trying TTF, I agree with trying a Pocket Predator since it will give you a different feel than a Simpleshot. I love them both, but have a low anchor that I can't wrap my head around moving, so generally shoot more and better with some of the wider fork Pocket Predators since I don't have to hold as low below the target. And something like a Sere/Hathcock/Etc with universal forks would give you the option of banding OTT or TTF, whereas with the Scorpion you're stuck TTF (although it's known as a top TTF frame, so if you're looking for dedicated TTF I don't think you can go wrong there).
