As a longtime member and moderator of the world's best slingshot forum, I've seen a lot. We had growing pains, we had spammers, we had malcontents, we had disruptors, but most of all, we had a lot of really good, honest, generous, and caring slingshot enthusiasts who contributed to making the Forum what it is today.
As a moderator, I earned more than my share of naysayers, all of whom have moved on to other forums. Today, my moderating duties consist 100% of removing the occasional SPAMMER, advising folks about the rules of selling on SSF, and answering questions via PM. The job no longer generates excitement nor rises in blood pressure.
The credit goes to you, the member, for being a decent person sharing an interest in a great hobby. Thanks, and a tip of the hat to you all.
Thanks to you and all the other Mod's for making it such a welcoming place. The forum is home to the nicest, most generous group of people I've ever met
Other than a disagreement several years go with moderators about a sudden topic deletion issue (no bad feelings, I've understood what it was all about), I have found this forum to stand well above the competition as a unique platform, where numerous interesting slingshot-related issues are discussed courteously by the vast majority of forum members - not something to be taken for granted these days.
Above all, it is the fact of being in regular contact with very genuine people devoted to a creative activity and challenging sport that would otherwise be rather solitary, given the still prevailing public bias that adversely affects slingshots and slingshot enthusiasts in general. I hope that the younger generations will take an interest in what we are all about.
Thank you to the moderators and all the other contributors who enable this forum to exist, and thus promote our awesome sport.
