In my thread about TTF vs OTT thread, vince4242 made me an offer I couldn't refuse on a like new Scout XT so I could really spend some time with OTT before I made any hard decisions about my preferences. It includes the metal band clamps and came double banded for hunting. It was a bit heavy for me to use to find my sea legs so I banded it w/Sumeike 0.7mm. He also generously included three of his his homemade OTT frames. They all feel good, but the one with the palm swell is especially comfortable. He sent some Simple Shot Black .8mm and a couple of the pouches he makes. Everything was well packed and looks great! This place is chock full of really generous folks. My bow fishing partner has been listening to all my slingshot talk lately and is very interested. I think I'm going to set up one of the homemade frames and give him a bunch of ammo and spare bandsets so he can catch the fever as well. Really a great place to hang out. Thanks much Vince (and everyone else here)! Two thumbs up ????????!

Very nice!!! In the first picture, is the middle frame with the palm swell made from OSB ? Just to be safe, maybe give it a stress test to be sure it will hold up to the lateral stress from the bands.
It is OSB. I definitely pulled and twisted the forks and everything feels good. Maybe I'll band it lightly to start. Thanks.

I am glad my slingshots will finally get some use. I took that money and another slingshot that I returned to buy myself a heaven emperor from slingshooting.com! Can't wait for it to get here I am all about the hammer grip now and really like my D1 from slingshooting.com... video to come.

that is 5/8 inch OSB it is very dense and I find it stronger than normal plywood. You can definitely tell the difference when you're cutting it with a skill saw making a slingshot. the OSB as much harder to cut through than the ply. I put some very heavy bands on that particular slingshot and I trusted fully it. You should all give it a try it is so cheap and easy to find in a dumpsters at construction sites.

Just to clarify my build process with OSB, after sanding and getting it just right I coat the whole thing in two layers of epoxy and then let it dry. This way no moisture will get in to break apart the glue holding the wood together. Maybe that is the key but I've never had an issue. In a pinch you can just get ther small plunger pack of 5-minute epoxy or 30 minute epoxy and just takes a little bit to coat it up and in a half an hour you got to slingshot ready to go.

Cheers
