Was not expecting any slingmail to come popping in, but had these two little beauties in the mailbox today from my good buddy Monroe.....thanks from the bottom of my heart brother, very nice stuff.

Both are from recent posts of Monroe's, 3D printed PFS, and a Picklebone PFS with plywood core, Cherry scales, and a couple of Copper pins.

Thanks so much Monroe

Those are sweet, Darrell! I really wish I could get the hang of shooting those things. I'm missing out on some really cool frames!

Wow those are exceptional pfs, I'm curious on the ply core one. Is that wood filament on both sides as well?

Yep, I've only shot PFS a couple times, but as good as these look, they gotta make it easy, right ?
That Picklebone is sanded so smooth it is silky drawers feeling, lol.

Not sure what you mean by wood filament(?), but it appears to be maybe Multiplex or Birch ply core, and the scales are solid Cherry

Wow, awesome frames! :p

Sorry I missed this post earlier. My pleasure and happy to send them to you. Makes it easier on this end to build more!

Yes, the orange layered frame is made from PETG 3Dpinted filament. Each layer is printed separately and then CA glued to assemble. This build was my first built with intentional internal wire frame to add stiffness. So actually, it would be considered a steel rod reinforced 3D printed frame.

If you could see a close up of the ply core of the Pickle Bone, you would notice that this isn't normal ply. I have a piece of 1/4" aircraft grade ply that is about 20 years old. The ply layers are a bit unique that they are not all the same thicknesses. "Aircraft Grade" actually just means that it is guaranteed to not have any voids.

Darrell, enjoy and let me know when you need some PFS shooting tips?

I thought you said both were 3D printed. I have seen ppl printing out slingshots with a wood filament. To give the 3D printed work a more natural earthy look.

The orange frame is 3d printed in PETG. The Pickle Bone is 1/4" ply with a layer of 1/16" maple vaneer and a 1/16" layer of cherry vaneer. I have wanted to try the wood filaments but not yet.

@Palmettoflyer I will have to look up Aircraft grade plywood. I never have thought of it before. I am sure the cost is astronomical? I will find out.
