I remember a Fowler video proving the same point with a very rough hewn 'survival' slingshot.

I have however noticed an inaccuracy on some looped tube setups - which is most definitely down to tubes binding against the frame resulting in uneven tension. But thats a setup issue (again blame the person not the frame).

There are so many great Chinese shooters! I came to the conclusion that it was the flipclips on my torque that were attaching the bands slightly different on each side. Switched back to good ol wrap and tuck. No issues.
Always found that most effective, and it has nice deep fork tip grooves which make it super secure.
