A red tip photinia was dying so I eyed some nice forks. Probably 12 or more. Read that it make a fine frame I got onto seasoning it. When it dries it almost rings when you strike it together. There is almost no grain and very solid and uniform. I decided to see what the smallest fork is that I could use. This is 9/32 at the tip and 5/16 at the base. 1/4 inch seemed to small. I pulled out my engineering manual and 0.25dia is around 8000psi tensile for a 2X max load. 20lb at 2 inches.

It looks like you would hunt bugs or humming birds with this guy. Register it in the feather weight category. I bet it still packs a punch just in a tiny package..

Have you seen the little have size cans of pop/soda? They would be a perfect match.
